Louise Kalemkerian – Interim Rector

Rev. Louise Kalemkerian, our Interim Rector, comes to us from St. Paul's in Norwalk, CT.
For the past four years, she also has served as the Director of HIV Programs at St. Luke's LifeWorks,
in Stamford. She previously held interim rector positions in the Diocese of Newark and came to
Connecticut in 1999 as rector of Emmanuel Church in Stamford.
Born and raised in Detroit, she was brought up in the Armenian Orthodox Church. During her late
teens, Louise felt a call to serve God but no official role for women existed at that time.
She received degrees from Wayne State University and taught junior high school in Detroit.
Louise then attended Seabury-Western Episcopal Seminary for a degree in Christian Education
and led programs for the Armenian Church. In 1991, Louise left to test her vocation
in the Episcopal Church. She was ordained into the priesthood in 1995.
Married to Joseph Kalemkerian, she is the mother of "two wonderful daughters."
Hobbies include reading, music, and baking pies.
Barbara
Gibbons – Parish Administrator

Barbara joined the St. Andrew's staff as Parish Administrator in 1998 and loves her involvement with all the parishioners as well as overseeing the daily operations of the parish office.
Born and raised in Bucks County Pennsylvania, she is the mother of three--Laurie, Catie and Chris. Laurie resides in Madison with her husband, Tom. Catie is employed by Incremedical in Essex and Chris attends the University of Connecticut.
Residing in Madison for over 25 years, Barbara and her children have been members of the St. Andrew's family for over 20 years. She enjoys cooking and relaxed walks along the shore with her two golden retrievers.
David
R. Mikus – Sexton and Verger

David Mikus has been the Sexton since 1987 and St. Andrew’s
first Verger since 1998. The sexton is responsible for maintaining
the “physical” church. The verger’s responsibilities
include insuring that worship services go smoothly and without
interruption. Other duties are the training and scheduling
of acolytes and lay assistants.
David works for the U.S. Forest Service at
a forest research laboratory. He is a U.S. Coast Guard veteran
and has attended Middlesex Community College and Southern
CT State University. He has a degree in Environmental Science.
David was born in White Plains, NY and grew
up on a small family farm in La Grangeville near Poughkeepsie.
David lives in Clinton with his wife, Tina, and enjoys the
outdoors, running, baseball, singing in the opera chorus and
taking care of St. Andrew's.
Mark Sullivan – Chancel Choir Director, Organist, and Pianist [to top]
Mark, a professional musician in every respect, received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from Boston University School of Music and studied piano at Julliard and the New England Conservatory. He is accomplished in many other areas currently teaching music to children at Our Lady of Mercy school, providing private lessons, and writing and directing music programs for young people. He will work with the Spirit Choir as accompanist. Mark previously was Music Director and Organist at the United Methodist Church of Clinton and resides in Madison.
Leah
Ann Portley– Director of Children’s Ministry
& Preschool

A resident of Madison, Leah Ann Portley
has been a parishioner at St. Andrew’s since 1997
and has overseen the children’s program since 1998.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion, Sociology,
and Psychology from Swarthmore College and a Master of Theological
Studies from Harvard Divinity School. Her primary vision
in her current ministry is to assure that every child who
passes through St. Andrew’s feels loved and treasured
by God through God’s people. Her greatest joys are
her husband, Sean, and caring for her three daughters: Makayla,
9, Korinne, 7, and Katrina, 4. Leah Ann enjoys the beach,
good conversation, and camping.
Jim
Olden – Guitarist

Jim Olden was born and raised in Bricktown,
NJ, where he grew up playing guitar with the church and
school choirs. He earned a Bachelor of Music Education from
The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College)
and spent several years in the Trenton area as a working
musician and teaching privately. In 1999, he moved to Connecticut
to attend the Hartt School of Music and earned a Master
of Music in classical guitar. Jim currently is the orchestra
director of Orange Public Schools where he had the great
fortune to make the acquaintance of June Hale. Recently
married, Jim resides with his wife Marie in Milford under
the strict supervision of their cats, Mia and Toby.
Joy
Weaver – Spirit Choir and Musicals Director

Joy is familiar to St. Andrew's audiences and children from her previous roles in leading our summer camps and musicals. In addition to her enthusiastic personality and talent for bringing out the best in kids, she has a deep and accomplished musical background, having worked professionally in many aspects of the theater. Joy loves the 9:15 a.m. service and the accompanying spirit-filled music. Her goal: getting everyone to sing either in the choir or in the congregation!
