On the first Saturday of each month, St. Andrew’s parishioners serve with Loaves and Fishes New Haven, sharing food, clothing, and community in a space rooted in mutual respect and shared dignity.
St. Andrew’s has supported Raise the Roof, the shoreline build organization of Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven, since its first builds in 2003. Through hands-on work and financial support, our parish - especially our young people - helps create safe, affordable housing while growing in faith and service.

At St. Andrew’s, Creation Care reflects our call to be faithful stewards of God’s earth. Through education, sustainable practices, and initiatives like our solar panel installation, we honor the sacredness of creation and our responsibility to protect it. See our solar panel statistics below.

St. Andrew’s supports Madison's Pollinator Pathway, a community-wide effort to support bees, butterflies, and other vital pollinators through native plantings and habitat restoration. By creating and maintaining pollinator-friendly gardens on our grounds, we help care for God’s creation and contribute to the health of our local ecosystem.
Our parishioners regularly provide food to the Madison Food Pantry, a volunteer group dedicated to improving the lives of Madison residents facing hardship.
St. Andrew’s parishioners actively participate in the Madison Community Garden by planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting a shared plot. All produce grown is donated to local food pantries and soup kitchens, helping to nourish and support our neighbors in need.
St. Andrew’s parishioners assemble “Moment Bags” with useful items like water, hand sanitizer, energy bars and other durable food items to give to anyone who may benefit from a moment of grace.
Blood drives are vital for maintaining a stable and lifesaving blood supply. St. Andrew's youth organize and lead blood drives as a meaningful way to serve an acute need in the broader community.
In 2018, St. Andrew’s led a multi-faith effort to resettle a refugee family from Afghanistan—helping to secure housing, transportation, employment, schools and access to services. Within a year, the family was financially independent and welcomed into the shoreline community. We continue to support refugee resettlement and help families adjust to life in the U.S. To donate, click below.
